- Like Hell - At the Piano Mark Andrew 4:45
- Like Hell - Raw Demo Mark Andrew 4:31
Love remembered in the struggle.
I recorded the “raw demo” track the day I wrote the song, once I could sing through it without choking up. I recorded the “at the piano” version a few weeks later, once I learned how to play the chords.
Lyrics
I said the words and she was quiet. I guess that always was our way. She looked away and tears were fallin’ And it’s been quiet here for days. She made a list of first date questions And asked ‘em on our second date. Two broken kids two mugs of coffee I said come on let’s get away. Forever is a long time to be lonely. But oh we carry memories in our scars. We’re holding on like hell, we are shakin’, we don’t know What’s up ahead or how we got this far. We left the coffee on the table Walked for miles just her and me. Guess it was crowded in the city I don’t remember, honestly. Forever is a long time to be lonely. But oh we carry memories in our scars. We’re holding on like hell, we are shakin’, we don’t know What’s up ahead or how we got this far. I held her hand along the lake shore Never wanted to let go But love and pain they walk together. We knew that when we said hello. I said the words and she was quiet. Yes, that always was our way. To love it is divine, but we are human, we break down. And man it sure is quiet here today.
